home

It's been three months since we left our hometown Philippines. Its quite a big decision for us to make. Leaving our families, hoping for better opportunities - that's one our major decision making we have to face. It's a good thing that we have someone here to live with, who can help us start and hopefully in the long run, to find our career. the first thing we have to face here is the cold weather. We are not used to it. It's funny when we first landed here because we were so all dressed up with some winter clothing but it's not yet winter. Along the streets we see people who wear summer clothes. And up to now, whether we are indoors or outdoors, we really have to get dressed warm. It's my first white christmas and looks exciting. Now I've seen snow and play with it. It's fun playing with the snow but then later, I had enough of it. I have to wear winter attire just to go to work. I have to leave early than the usual because buses may come late due to the snow. And Christmas, I didn't really felt the spirit of Christmas. maybe for kids they love it but for me, it's not like we used to have. Of course they also have Christmas lights, Christmas trees but what i miss really about the Christmas is my family. christmas is the perfect time for us to gather together completely, exchanging gifts and the food we have in the Philippines, taste so good. How I wish we can also have those kinds of food in here. Surely, there's no place like home.
